Leadership Training for Christ
During
the weekend of April 10th - 12th, 2009, many of our teens, elementary
students and their families will go to Rogers, Arkansas to participate
in the Leadership Training for Christ (LTC). This event, for 3rd to
12th graders, helps students develop several different kinds of leadership
skills. Our students participate in events like: service projects, drama,
puppets, chorus, scripture reading, song leading, sermon delivery, etc.
They also learn how to prepare bulletin boards, banners, Christian art,
radio messages and internet pages. Some students even learn how to sign
for the deaf. There are so many great things to do at LTC. Best of all,
this entire event is not just about one weekend. Students participate
in pre-convention events and they prepare for regular convention events
up to 6 months in advance. We are thankful for the leadership abilities
an event like this helps develop in our young people. We pray that the
church and the lost will benefit from an event like this for years to
come. The theme for the 2009 LTC is Life - Light - Word
and the book to study is the gospel of John.
