Family and Youth MinistryOur Direction, Goals, and Objectives“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. ” Proverbs 22:6
Youth Ministry – There are many different thoughts on this subject. Here at the Mannford church of Christ it is understood that the youth ministry means YOUTH in MINISTRY. We are not inward focused, we are outward focused. We believe that young people are very much a part of the church today, not just tomorrow. Family Ministry – We are working hard to intertwine the two ministries. You cannot have a successful youth ministry without the involvement of the entire family! We believe the best way to train families to raise strong, faithful, evangelistic children is by providing resources and guidance to them so that they become the youth ministers in the lives of our children. Please take a look at our goals. Goals:
Our Plan for 2008:Bible Classes: Our Bible classes are designed to cover all aspects of Christian living. We have textual studies and topical studies on a rotated basis. Sunday Night Devotionals: This is a get together, hosted by parents, which consists of eating dinner and providing a good devotional. The devotional is filled with singing, prayers, and a lesson from God’s word. Leadership Training for Christ: LTC gives our young people an incredible opportunity to study the Bible as they prepare for Bible Bowl and other events. Evangelism Classes: Through the year we will offer opportunities for our young people to be involved in a class that will equip them to lead others to Christ. Mission Efforts: We want our young people to be involved in our “Back to the Bible” campaign, to prepare them for a future mission trip to spread the Good News. Vacation Bible School: VBS is an incredible tool for reaching the lost. Our winter VBS is unique! Youth Rallies: We will travel to several area wide youth rallies where teens from all over meet to worship together. Church Camps: Our summer camps provide an excellent opportunity for our teens to grow spiritually, meet other teens, and have a lot of fun! Generally, we go to Silver Maple Camp, but also Burnt Cabin is attended by some. Oklahoma Preacher Training Camp Burnt Cabin – 5 photos Youth and Associate minister: Joe Sears – biography.
